Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter Revenue, Simplified. The team has been busy attending a couple events and learning about what is happening in the ecosystem. And we are happy to report that the hottest topic for Salesforce app builders is not AI, it is security. Log in to Salesforce Without a BrowserParker Harris, Salesforce co-founder, who basically built the platform that we all know and love today, thinks that logging into the Salesforce UI is becoming obsolete. For a person who is generally the voice of reason in this fast-paced world of tech, do we think that he truly believes that? He has done a great job at converting Slack into one of the modern ways to interact with the Salesforce platform, but there are many reasons why the Salesforce UI will be around for years to come. For three reasons in particular:
Salesforce Cracking Down on App SecurityOver the last year or so, there have been more than a handful of breaches related to Salesforce Connected Apps. Connected Apps (newly reimagined as External Client Apps) are the most critical foundation of any external application that sends and receives Salesforce data. In response to these breaches, Salesforce is requiring every single app, whether they make money on it or not, to refactor their authentication process for various OAuth flows. As a hybrid app that focuses on the Salesforce user experience, it has been a humbling process trying to keep up with these requirements and redesign a good portion of our security infrastructure. While it is a lot of work, it is the best hours that we have spent to ensure that we are setting a good example for other partners, as well as maintaining the absolute highest level of trust with our customers. Document Preview Mode is LiveShame on us for taking so long to enable this feature, but you can now review a merged document in real-time and make applicable changes before sending for signature or payment. Also, we decided it was time to redesign our global document generation window. Upcoming EventsWe are looking at attending and/or sponsoring a Dreamin' event or two this summer. Which is the best one? Being an Ohio guy, I am thinking Buckeye Dreamin' is the place to be. As always, follow us on LinkedIn for more fun updates. |
