Salesforce Quip Retiring Next Year

Users are now being redirected to Slack when attempting to purchase Quip licenses here. We get it, we have heavily invested in using Slack internally, as well as integrating it in our own offering. If leveraged properly, Slack can be used as a centralized hub for building meaningful automation for various departments. However, we also use Confluence for our support site and documentation. For any Quip users out there, take the time to evaluate if your current or future business process align with some of these tools.

The Difference Between ” and "

A couple of weeks ago, our team had fun figuring out why we ran into issues when testing our latest doc gen engine. Within merge tags, we accidentally used the former instead of the latter: the former being a curly quote, and the latter a standard double quote. In modern typography and many platforms, a standard double quote is automatically converted to a curly quote. Our server got confused and started throwing errors when it encountered a curly quote in a currency-formatted field. We fixed this by adding a formatter option for creating or modifying text. This provides another way to format your documents without worrying about the underlying data formatting.

Due to popular demand, we have finally made template cloning GA (generally available) in version 6.27. Thanks to everybody for their patience. Now go clone some templates!
